The base earns the brand. The Hookah Tree Tear Drop is a hand-blown Russian shisha vase finished with a stepped pedestal foot — three concentric rings shaped into the underside, the unmistakable signature of a genuine Hookah Tree piece. Same iconic Russian flare you know, lifted by craft details a private-label vase doesn't carry. Heavy in the hand, considered on the stem.

Hookah Tree Tear Drop Russian Shisha Vase — Pedestal Base, 45mm Russian Fit
Why This Shisha Vase
- Stepped pedestal foot. Three concentric rings shaped into the underside form a small structural pedestal — the visible Hookah Tree signature you won't find on private-label clear glass. The detail catches the light differently from every angle and reads as deliberate craft, not generic finish.
- Hand-blown Russian glass. Shaped at Hookah Tree's glassworks in Russia. Subtle surface ripples, minor glass-mass variations, and the hand-rolled lip are signatures of genuine craft work — not machine-mould stock.
- True teardrop silhouette. A wide, low-centred belly tapering through a long, elegant neck. The same iconic Russian flare shape executed at a premium tier — substantial wall thickness, deliberate proportions, no shortcuts.
- Russian-standard 45mm neck. Pairs with any standard 45mm base grommet for a compressive seal across modern Russian-spec shisha pipes.
- Clear hand-blown glass. Untreated, untinted, unfrosted. The pedestal base does the visual work; the glass itself stays out of the way and lets the stem command attention.
- Rare in Australia. Hookah Tree is a small Russian glasshouse with limited export volume. Outside Russia, finding a genuine piece is the exception — and the pedestal base is the easiest way to verify what you're holding is the real thing.

Fit & Compatibility
- Designed for: Russian-standard shisha pipes with a 45mm vase neck and grommet seal.
- Pairs cleanly with: Hoob (Mars, Classic, Professional grommet lines), Maklaud, Alpha, Conceptic, Geometry, Union, Japona, VZ, Mattpear, DSH, Soft Smoke, plus modern German and Polish brands using the 45mm grommet standard (Aladin modern, AMY Deluxe Russian-spec, Wookah, Dschinni, Neolux).
- Will not fit: Egyptian threaded stems (Khalil Mamoon, Shika, Sahara), magnetic-lock-only stems (Hoob Atom and similar), proprietary clamp systems (Steamulation Ultimate Gen II), or sealed glass-body designs (Oduman N-series).
- Base grommet not included. Pair with a 45mm shisha base grommet for a clean, airtight seal.
How to Use It
- Insert the grommet: Press your 45mm base grommet flush into the vase neck.
- Wet the seal: Lightly dampen the grommet — it eases the stem in and protects the rubber.
- Seat the stem: Lower with a gentle quarter-turn. The down-spout should sit ~15–20 mm below the water line.
- Fill water: Cover the diffuser/down-port by 10–15 mm. Adjust to taste.
- Pull-test: Block the hose mouthpiece and pull. No bubbles = airtight.
Care & Maintenance
- Rinse with lukewarm water after each session — never hot on cold glass, never cold on warm. Hand-blown glass dislikes thermal shock.
- For deeper cleans, use a soft bottle brush with mild detergent or a dilute lemon-and-bicarb soak.
- The pedestal rings can collect dust and water residue between sessions — a quick wipe around the underside with a soft cloth keeps the detail sharp.
- Dry the neck before re-seating the grommet — trapped moisture squeaks the seal and shortens grommet life.
- Store on a flat, level surface. The pedestal foot sits stable, but a soft mat under the base prevents knocks during cleaning.
- Avoid alcohol-based cleaners — they can dull glass over time. Citric acid soaks are fine for limescale.
Quick Fixes
- Air leaking on first pull? Re-seat the grommet — uneven insertion is the usual culprit. If it still hisses, try a thicker grommet.
- Stem sitting loose? Grommet's undersized — step up a thickness.
- Stem won't seat fully? Grommet's oversized — step down a thickness.
- Water marks won't budge? A short citric acid soak (one tablespoon in warm water, 30 minutes) clears mineral deposits without abrasives.

FAQ
Will this fit my shisha pipe?
If your stem inserts into the vase via a 45 mm rubber or silicone grommet, the Tear Drop is built for that standard. Modern Russian, German, and Polish shisha pipes overwhelmingly use this fit. If your stem screws onto the vase (Egyptian style) or uses a brand-specific magnetic-only or clamp connector, it will not seal here.
Why does this cost more than the Essentials Tear Drop?
Same Russian-fit shape, two genuinely different products. The Hookah Tree is a Russian-imported piece from a small glasshouse — limited export volume, hand-blown construction, and the stepped pedestal foot you can see at the underside is the brand-signature finish that distinguishes a genuine Hookah Tree from any private-label clear teardrop. The price reflects scarcity, country of origin, and the visible craft detail. The Essentials Tear Drop is the working-day clean clear option without the pedestal foot or Russian provenance. Both are quality bases; pick whichever matches what you value.
Does the pedestal base affect performance, or is it purely decorative?
The pedestal is primarily a brand signature and aesthetic detail — both flat-bottomed and pedestal-bottomed Russian-fit vases sit identically on a table and perform the same on the stem. The rings are part of the vase's structural underside, not raised feet that change clearance. What you're paying for with the pedestal is the visible craft — the kind of detail that catches the eye when someone notices your setup, and the kind that confirms you're holding the real thing.
Is hand-blown glass more fragile than machine-made?
Not inherently — Hookah Tree's wall thickness is substantial, often heavier than mass-produced bases. The fragile reputation comes from thin-walled decorative glass, which this is not. Treat it like any premium glass: avoid sudden temperature shifts and impact on hard surfaces, and you'll get years of use.
