Does this light my coals?

No — you still need a charcoal burner to light your coals. The 320° Starter connects to your hose and draws air through the hookah automatically, warming the coals and tobacco from the airflow side. It replaces the manual puffing you normally do during the first few minutes of a session.

Can I use it during the whole session?

It is designed primarily for startup — the first one to two minutes when coals are getting going and the smoke is at its harshest. Once the session is producing clean smoke, disconnect and draw manually as normal. Some users leave it running briefly for hands-free clouds, but its main value is eliminating harsh startup draws.
