The cut-glass look, at the entry tier. The Etched Diamond Clear carries a finely scored diamond hatch pattern across a classic teardrop body — the look of decanter-style cut glass without the cut-glass price. Pure clear, Russian-fit, weighty enough to anchor a modern stem. The base for anyone who wants pattern over plain without committing to the heavy-cut tier.

Etched Diamond Clear Russian Shisha Vase — Hatch-Cut Glass, 45mm Russian Fit
Why This Shisha Vase
- Diamond hatch etching across the body. A classic criss-cross diamond pattern scored into the glass surface — visible, tactile, but lighter than deep pressed-cut work. The look of cut-glass decanter craft at an accessible tier.
- Classic teardrop silhouette. Wide rounded bottom rising into a tall straight neck — the traditional decanter-style profile. Sits beautifully on shorter stems and contrasts cleanly with the wide-flared Russian shapes elsewhere in the range.
- Pure clear glass. No tint, no colour layer. The hatch pattern catches and refracts light from every angle, keeping the visual interest entirely in the cut work.
- Russian-standard 45mm neck. Pairs with any standard 45mm base grommet for a compressive seal across modern Russian-spec shisha pipes.
- Substantial wall thickness. Heavy enough to anchor a tall stem, stable on the table, and built for the daily life of a hookah base — water, wipes, the occasional knock during cleaning.
- Approachable price point. Enters the cut-glass category at a starter tier — the decorative pattern aesthetic without the premium pressed-cut cost. A natural upgrade from a plain clear vase.

Fit & Compatibility
- Designed for: Russian-standard shisha pipes with a 45mm vase neck and grommet seal.
- Pairs cleanly with: Hoob (Mars, Classic, Professional grommet lines), Maklaud, Alpha, Conceptic, Geometry, Union, Japona, VZ, Mattpear, DSH, Soft Smoke, plus modern German and Polish brands using the 45mm grommet standard (Aladin modern, AMY Deluxe Russian-spec, Wookah, Dschinni, Neolux).
- Will not fit: Egyptian threaded stems (Khalil Mamoon, Shika, Sahara), magnetic-lock-only stems (Hoob Atom and similar), proprietary clamp systems (Steamulation Ultimate Gen II), or sealed glass-body designs (Oduman N-series).
- Base grommet not included. Pair with a 45mm shisha base grommet for a clean, airtight seal.
How to Use It
- Insert the grommet: Press your 45mm base grommet flush into the vase neck.
- Wet the seal: Lightly dampen the grommet — it eases the stem in and protects the rubber.
- Seat the stem: Lower with a gentle quarter-turn. The down-spout should sit ~15–20 mm below the water line.
- Fill water: Cover the diffuser/down-port by 10–15 mm. Adjust to taste.
- Pull-test: Block the hose mouthpiece and pull. No bubbles = airtight.
Care & Maintenance
- Rinse with lukewarm water after each session — never hot on cold glass, never cold on warm. Etched cut glass dislikes thermal shock as much as hand-blown.
- The shallow hatch pattern rinses out cleanly with a normal shake-and-pat dry — easier to maintain than deeper pressed-cut work.
- For deeper cleans, use a soft bottle brush with mild detergent or a dilute lemon-and-bicarb soak.
- Dry the neck before re-seating the grommet — trapped moisture squeaks the seal and shortens grommet life.
- Store on a flat, level surface. The teardrop base is stable, but a soft mat under the body prevents knocks during cleaning.
- Avoid alcohol-based cleaners — they can dull glass over time. Citric acid soaks are fine for limescale.
Quick Fixes
- Air leaking on first pull? Re-seat the grommet — uneven insertion is the usual culprit. If it still hisses, try a thicker grommet.
- Stem sitting loose? Grommet's undersized — step up a thickness.
- Stem won't seat fully? Grommet's oversized — step down a thickness.
- Cuts looking dull or filmy? A short citric acid soak (one tablespoon in warm water, 30 minutes) clears mineral deposits without abrasives.

FAQ
Will this fit my shisha pipe?
If your stem inserts into the vase via a 45 mm rubber or silicone grommet, the Etched Diamond Clear is built for that standard. Modern Russian, German, and Polish shisha pipes overwhelmingly use this fit. If your stem screws onto the vase (Egyptian style) or uses a brand-specific magnetic-only or clamp connector, it will not seal here.
How is this different from the Diamond-Cut Clear?
Two real differences. First, the cut work: this is etched — a finer diamond hatch scored into the glass surface — where the Diamond-Cut Clear carries a deeper pressed lattice. Second, the silhouette: this is a classic teardrop body, where the Diamond-Cut Clear has the wide-flared Russian profile. Both are 45 mm Russian fit, both are pure clear glass, both pair with the same modern stems. Different aesthetic, different price tier.
Is this lead crystal?
No. The Etched Diamond Clear is finished pressed glass with a surface-etched cut pattern — the look of crystal cut work in a far more accessible tier. True lead-crystal hookah vases sit well above $400 in the Australian market. This piece delivers the cut-glass aesthetic without the premium price, and without making any claims it cannot back up.
Does the etched pattern make cleaning harder?
No more than any patterned glass vase, and noticeably easier than deeper pressed-cut work. The hatched cuts are shallow, so water rinses out cleanly with a normal shake-and-pat dry. A soft bottle brush handles deeper cleans. Mineral spotting is no more pronounced here than on plain glass.
